Is Bush the lesser of two evils?

Recent Zogby International poll data along with polling data from Muslim organizations have shown that as much as 51% of America's Muslims will be voting for Kerry. Another 26% will vote for Nader, 14% are undecided and very few for Bush.

This is in stark contrast to the year 2000 election, where over 78% of America's Muslims voted for Bush. Apparently, something major must have happened that caused the huge shift. Previously, we have discussed American Muslims as the ultimate swing voter group, and everyday, we are proven more correct.

The main issue that every Muslim American cites as why he has switched allegiance seems to be the Iraq war. While Muslims lean conservative on most issues, the Iraq war seems to be the watershed event that "changed everything."

Sadly, most Muslims do not know Kerry's stance on the Iraq war. What if Kerry was president?

This week Kerry's campaign made it clear that John F. Kerry "would have invaded Iraq even if he knew what he knows now." Further, he said that if the intelligence community assured him that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, he still would have ignited a war of aggression with the desolate country. Even the loss of over 1000 American lives would not have fazed his decision.

In addition, Kerry said that if the CIA had made it perfectly clear that Iraq had no ties to Al-Qaeda, the Democrat would have ignored that important piece of information and would still have given the green light to go to war. If this sounds outrageous, it is.

Even George W. Bush will not go that far. He acknowledges that if he knew what he knows now, he may not have gone to war. Further, his campaign is saying that he was mislead by the CIA and other intelligence apparatus. In essence, they are saying that it was probably a mistake.

Even more troubling is the votes against the $18 billion and $2 dollar aid packages to re-build Iraq and Afganistan, respectively. So basically, Kerry would have invaded those countries, but opposes rebuilding them? He spent 3 hours on the senate floor objecting to the Iraq aid package. Why? Who knows. Makes you reall wonder who is really controlling his agenda.

The questions is, Is Kerry serious? And why on earth is he saying these things? Is he trying to be tough? Is he trying to be the "war president" that Bush claims he is? Is he trying to take the campaign ina direction away from the Iraq war?

While the Bush campaign is pushing Bush as a great "peace president" now, the Kerry people want to promote him as the better "war president".

So, based on this information, who is the better president? You decide.
